Reservations, Cancellations, Policies
Schedule your weekend a year in advance if possible.
Often scout troops schedule their weekend far in advance so they have
time to raise their monies for the weekend. An early commitment also
helps you build troop spirit and parent cooperation.
Cancellations
Think carefully before you cancel.
Any group canceling their weekend must do so within one month of sending their confirmation fee AND notification must be made to Sprucelands in writing or with a phone call. Canceling a weekend one or even two months before your planned arrival is not sufficient time for Sprucelands to find a replacement group. Most groups do book a year in advance.
Quality and Planning
The quality of Sprucelands is dependent upon your respect for the above policies. Claiming a weekend date and not confirming that date with a $50 confirmation fee within one month will result in your forfeiting your date.
Only if special arrangements have been made with Eileen Thompson or Alison Sasiadek will the one month grace period be extended. Your good planning will make for an all round wonderful weekend riding clinic. Our planning enhances your knowledge, understanding, and gives you practical, hands-on experience.
Value for Your Money
What do you get for your money? Look at it this way. Your girls ride Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. In addition, they participate in on-the-ground lessons in feeding, leading, tacking up, horse parts, horse colors and horse psychology. Your troop has the use of our heated camp lodge for two nights. You pay $93 for the program and a place to stay.
Eileen charges public riders $30 for each riding lesson and $100 to use the camp lodge. Your girls are getting four lessons plus a place to stay for $93.00. Available also are photos that Eileen takes. If you are interested, she puts them together and sells them through the camp internet store at www.spruceconnect.etsy.com.
