Housekeeping Information

Girl Scout leaders have commented that they would like information about what   is available in the Camp Lodge so they know how to pack. Hopefully, this information will help you plan ahead.

The Lodge is located on the edge of a small lake. It has picture windows that help you enjoy the view. There are five exits upstairs where you will sleep and  an exit downstairs off the shower room.

In the main room of the lodge you will find the following:

  • Tables and benches
  • Mattresses
  • A foosball table
  • A ping-pong table
  • Heavy duty chairs around the fireplace
  • A fireplace
  • Overhead heaters and electric lights
  • A clock

In the kitchen which is off the back of the main room:

  • Large pots and pans
  • Big stainless steel bowls
  • Large cookie sheets and baking pans
  • Pizza pans
  • Silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, cups
  • Utensils: pancake turners, large spoons, whips, etc.
  • Cafeteria trays
  • A coffee maker
  • Refrigerator
  • 10 burner gas stove
  • Pizza oven
  • Microwave
  • Blender
  • Garbage cans
  • Grill (this must be cleaned before leaving if you use it)
  • A clock
  • Water in the lodge is drinkable
  • There is no toaster. If you need toast, you will need to bring a toaster.
  • Brooms and a mop

Please note: There are two bathrooms upstairs off the main room of the Lodge. Downstairs you will find two showers and three toilets. 

What you need to bring: 

  • Extra toilet paper
  • Garbage bags
  • Dish liquid and towels
  • Paper towels
  • (We start you out with the above. If you run out, it’s good to have extra.)
  • Firewood, if you want split wood
  • Ping pong balls
  • Bedding and pillows
  • Boots with a heel for riding - Every rider should wear shoes or boots with a small heel. No sneakers. Be careful the boot heel is not too high or the boots are not too uncomfortable. You will be on your feet much of the weekend. Some girls will wear sneakers to the barn and carry theri boots for use when riding. That is okay.
  • Riding helmets - Sprucelands will lease helmets for $2.00 per rider. Bicycle helmets are NOT okay.

What you need to take with you:

  • Your garbage
  • For any garbage left behind there is a $30 charge.
