 Last Minute Questions

Check In and Check Out:

Campers check in NO EARLIER than 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon; check out time is between 12-2 p.m. Saturday afternoon It won't be long and you'll be here.with the end of the Saturday morning program.

At the end of week 2, 4, 6, 8, there is a Horse Show which begins at 10 a.m. Parents are encouraged to arrive between 9:45-10:00 a.m.   At the end of weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, the riding program offers alternative riding that parents are welcome to view. Often that is a trail pace.

Arrival by Train, Bus or Plane:

Those arriving by train, bus or plane can be met at the Depew Railroad Station, Buffalo Bus Station, or Buffalo International Airport. A $30 fee is charged each way for transporting your child and luggage. It is requested that parents notify the Camp Director in writing about arrival and departure times as far in advance as possible.

Telephone Calls:

Campers in residence for  two weeks may receive one call a week between 6:30-9:30 p.m. at 585-457-9998. We invite parents to wait until the first Friday to make their first call. Daily calls are not invited because we have only one phone in the Camp Lodge. It is located in the camp infirmary and that phone needs to be as open as possible. Letters into and out of camp are invited because campers love mail.

Email:

(1) The Camp Director is willing to receive email from parents to campers. She will download the email and put it in the camp mail for receiving campers. (2) The Camp Director is willing to dialogue across email with parents daily about how their camper is doing. (3) The Director will send email for campers if the campers give their hand written letters to the director for typing. (4) There is no camper access to computers or email.

Parent Visits:

Visits to your campers are not encouraged because often that leads to homesickness. Campers need to handle their independence and will do so best with support through the mail. Four to eight week campers may be visited with advance notice to the Camp Director. Visiting parents do best to come to Saturday Horse Shows at the end of weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8. Saturday afternoon is the easiest and best time to take campers out of camp. If relatives or friends are taking them out of camp, we must have a completed Out of Camp Permission Slip
